public spaces + community places grant

A new program designed by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) in collaboration with the Michigan Municipal League. The grant program is available to municipalities with projects that focus on “activation of public spaces and community places,” such as an outdoor plaza or park enhancements and that have established public awareness and local momentum.

Fresh Era Detroit

Fresh Era Detroit creates easy opportunities for young professionals to do good by hosting cause-specific volunteering and networking events. Their mission is to provide opportunities for these young Metro-Detroiters to participate in the social and economic renaissance of the city.

Michigan Department of natural resources

Owned by the City of Detroit, Belle Isle is managed as a state park by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources through a 30-year lease initiated in 2013. Belle Isle is the largest city-owned island park in the United States.
